Origin of Races

Creek (Tukabahchee)

At first there were none but red men. The Lord said to three of them, "Now I want to make some white men," and he told them to go to the river and wash. At first only one went and he stayed a long time in the water and when he came out he was all over white. Then another went and stayed but a short time and the water had been a little soiled, so his color was not changed. Then the third went and the water was more soiled, and when he came out he was black.
